The Associated Press reports that Dunkin’ Donuts has pulled an online advertisement featuring Rachael Ray after complaints that a fringed black-and-white scarf that the celebrity chef wore in the ad offers symbolic support for Muslim extremism and terrorism.

This Is Why People Bittorrent TV Shows

Series Four of the current incarnation of Doctor Who will debut on the CBC on September 19th.

The series is already half done in the UK but we still have to wait despite the fact CBC is a co-producer and that we have a specialty channel here called BBC Canada. To add insult to injury, this will likely delay the release of the series on DVD.

Dot Bomb 2.0?

There has been a lot of chatter about the reliability of Twitter and just as much about its lack of a business model.

Despite the user uptake of Web 2.0 services, I still don’t understand how these services intend to monetize themselves, even if they are very useful – Remember the Milk comes to mind.

Facebook has yet to make money and even Google’s Eric Schmidt admitted recently that it has yet to figure out how to make money off YouTube.

I Don’t Want to Be Hyperconnected…

… although when I do need to connect, it should be fast and easy.

I don’t believe being hyperconnected makes you more productive. I’ve worked with people who are online all of the time, through e-mail, text and IM, and they so busy connecting, they never get any work done.

Nearly half (46%) of internet users favor the creation of a voluntary code of conduct for bloggers and online commentators, shows a survey by legal firm DLA Piper.
